More lightning photos using a lightning trigger.

As stated in the last post, I got a lightning trigger last year, and have been thrilled with the results.

On June 11th, 2011 In Owensboro, Kentucky, I very powerful storm came from the North-west. I got my gear and headed to a Park on the outskirts of town called Waymond Morris Park. This is in a particular area that’s very flat and gives me an unobstructed view of the the direction the storm is coming from.

The storm came late in the afternoon with plenty of light still left in the sky. The following photos were taken using the PMGadgets lightning trigger.

As you can see with the above photo, the lightning trigger was able to capture a small strike in the distance. One of the things that I do love about the trigger is its ability to get strikes even when there is a lot of ambient light.

As the first round passed, we had a couple of hours before the big night-time storm came on the same day.

The lightning trigger performed flawlessly. The only time that it really messed up really wasn’t the lightning trigger messing up, it was operator error, where I hadn’t turned off auto-focus or didn’t have the shutter-speed set correctly.

As soon as I compose myself, I will post more on this particular storm.
